2021 Students’ Council and GFC elections results

Read to find out who your Students’ Council and General Faculties Council representatives for 2021-2022 will be.

The winners for seats on the 2021-2022 Students’ Council and General Faculties Council were announced on March 18. Here’s who won:

Students’ Council

Students’ Council has 32 councillor seats from the university’s faculties. Students’ Council also has seats for the Students’ Union president, four vice-presidents, the speaker, and the undergraduate Board of Governors representative. Councillors attend council meetings and vote on the Students’ Union’s bylaws and policies, including the union’s stances on tuition, deferred maintenance, and sexual violence. They are also involved with the Students’ Union’s committees, standing committees, and boards.

General Faculties Council

General Faculties Council (GFC) is the university body in charge of making decisions related to academics, such as program creation, suspension, curriculum changes and more. GFC consists of 158 members, including university administrators, deans, professors, and around 39 undergraduate student representatives. GFC meets every month and has subcommittees that meet regularly.
