What: Friends Across Campus Sip and Share
When: February 2 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Where: Orion Room, Students’ Union Building
Admission: Free, must RSVP

Sip and Share is a more relaxed and slow-paced version of Friends Across Campus’ speed friending events! Facilitators will direct group conversations around a stimulating topic for the first hour. Groups will change multiple times, allowing participants to meet new people. For the second hour, participants have the option of staying and making friends over board games and colouring. Refreshments will be provided!

What: Indigenous Celebration Week
When: January 30 to February 2
Where: Students’ Union Building
Admission: Free

Hosted by the University of Alberta Students’ Union (UASU), Indigenous Celebration Week celebrates Indigenous culture, teachings, and languages through events led by Indigenous elders and other community members. Events this year include discussion panels, performances, and an Indigenous artisan market.

What: Saltburn
When: January 25 at 9:45 p.m., January 27 at 9:15 p.m.
Where: Metro Cinema
Admission: $11 for students

Metro Cinema is presenting Saltburn, starring Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, and Rosamund Pike. The film follows Oxford student Oliver Quick and his fascination with his classmate’s wealthy and aristocratic lifestyle. The film has been widely discussed on the internet, leaving viewers stunned, confused, and fascinated.

What: UltraViolet
When: January 26 at 7:30 p.m.
Where: Convocation Hall
Admission: $10 for students

UltraViolet is an instrumental ensemble that exclusively creates and performs new classical compositions. The groups is comprised of four local artists: saxophonist Allison Balcetis, flutist Chenoa Anderson, pianist Roger Admiral, and percussionist Mark Segger. Catch their evening performance and support emerging composers!

What: Wellness Winter Wonderland Social
When: January 26 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Where: ALES Atrium
Admission: Free, must RSVP

Wellness Supports aims to strengthen the mental health and well-being of individuals and the campus community. Their winter social will have many activities, including relaxing paper crafts, treats, and ice breakers for getting to know new people!
