Exploring Edmonton: BE Coffee
BE Coffee is an Edmonton gem, serving up delicious drinks and treats in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
A coffee shop must have a warm, inviting atmosphere for studying, and of course, delicious coffee to be considered the perfect spot. I love to try out local cafes because I get to support my community and be guaranteed a well-crafted drink every time.
A recent favourite of mine has been BE Coffee for its unique interior design, ease of accessibility (being right by Century Park Transit Centre), and a guaranteed satisfaction every time.
As a regular train-rider, it’s super convenient to grab a warm drink on the mornings I need a little pick-me-up. They offer mobile order pick-up that comes in handy for when I need to catch the next train. Their point system is also great because you can collect points for a free treat!
The shop offers plenty of seating in its mellow environment that is perfect for studying between classes. Specifically, there are window seats that the cafe encourages students to utilize when studying for long periods. Alternatively, it does not discourage from visiting with a friend, as seats space out nicely, given the size. You’re almost always accompanied by a curated playlist of soft, comforting music that complements the overall aesthetic.
According to the owner of the shop, “BE” stands for beginning to end. The concept allows customers to stop for coffee early in the morning, or with a friend in the evening. Additionally, as the name suggests, the shop is bee and garden-themed. It’s decorated in honeycomb inspired pieces and draped in flowers and greenery. BE Coffee is like a year-round spring-haven for when you need a lively environment during the cold, dreary months.
Additionally, a unique thing that they offer are coffee floats that allow you to sample four different drinks. It’s a great way to taste their different drinks all at once and makes for a fun experience, especially for the coffee nerds. For the tea drinkers, they have an extensive selection of common flavours and unique options like Moroccan Mint Green Tea.
Currently my go-to is a caramel latte. As a self-appointed coffee expert, this is one of the best lattes in Edmonton. It is such a simple drink, yet so well-crafted.
Personally, I can’t have coffee without a sweet treat. Luckily, BE Coffee always has an amazing selection of pastries and treats to choose from. Some notable mentions include their coffee scones and strawberry loaves that pair deliciously with a drink. If you are looking for a savoury snack, their avocado toast is also a tasty option.
BE Coffee is an Edmonton gem that you must visit next time you’re south of town and craving a delicious coffee.
