What: Ria Mae with Special Guest, Mathew V

Ria Mae’s “The Stars” tour makes a stop in town on November 20th with her inspiring pop music. Hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Ria Mae blends her own personal experiences with heartfelt lyrics and a fun hypnotic beat. Along with 21-year-old Mathew V from Vancouver, British Columbia, the show will be one you don’t want to miss.

Where: The Station on Jasper Ave
Admission: $25

The Station is hosting a MoTown celebration with Callie Day. Callie Day is from Atlanta, Georgia and is in town to celebrate this genre of music. She has reached online fame through a video of her singing and was even featured on America’s Got Talent. Check out her unique voice for one day only! 

What: The Winter Wonderland Market

When: November 22, 2019 at 3 PM – 10 PM
Where: 9240 93 St
Admission: Free!

The holidays are approaching and some of you may be in the process of gift-buying. Yes Artisan Boutique Markets is hosting the Winter Wonderland Market, which features local artists, makers, collectors, and many more. Second Chance Animal Rescue Society will be there with some furry friends and collecting donations for their organization. The Strathcona Wrestling Club will be there selling artisan coffee to help send local youth to tournaments. 

So, have a relaxing day buying gifts, petting dogs and helping your community! 

What: Musaics Concert 

When: November 24, 2019 at 3:00 p.m.
Where: Convocation Hall  
Admission: Students $10. Adults $20

The Music Students’ Association is hosting Musaics, aiming to bring students from all over the Department of Music to create a mosaic of music. The show will feature various genres, instruments, and groups. All the proceeds will go to funding the renovation of Convocation Hall. Supporting your fellow students has never been so easy! 

What: Cat Clyde

When: November 23, 2019
Where: The Starlite Room
Admission: $9.99 – $12.00

This Stratford, Ontario artist is bringing her unique combination of southern-country folk with hints of blues music to the Starlite Room on the 23rd. Cat Clyde’s raw and powerful lyrics draw listeners from all over, and her new album has garnered tons of praise from critics. Grab your friends and enjoy a wonderful night of music! 

Ashlynn Chand

Ashlynn was the 2019-20 Arts and Culture Editor. She was a fifth year English and Psychology student. She can be described as a friendly neighbourhood cat: very small, very fast, and can sleep anywhere.
