What: Candy Cane Cabaret
When: November 29 – December 13
Where: Capitol Theatre
Admission: $29.95

Spice up your visit to the Edmonton Christmas Market with a cabaret show. Take a break from the holiday shopping to see some great dancing. And your ticket covers entry to the festival too. So why not take a break from wandering Fort Edmonton Park to catch a show?

What: Light Up at the Alberta Legislature
When: December 3
Where: Queen Elizabeth II Building
Admission: Free

Get in the holiday spirit at the Alberta Legislature as they light it up. You can catch the Cosmopolitan Chorus and Overtones Handbell Ensemble inside. But of course, the big event in the countdown to lighting the big Christmas tree up at Violet King Henry Plaza. Even if you can’t make it on December 3, there’ll be plenty of free musical performances running on the Fridays and Saturdays until December 20.

What: Buck Pop
When: December 13
Where: The Buckingham on Whyte
Admission: $25

Hit up the Buck on Whyte for a night of pop music, drag, and dancing. Canada’s Drag Race star Makayla Couture will be making an appearance alongside our local queens Ladonna Stone, Karly Klimax, Jizz Ellie, and more. It’s bound to be a night packed with great music and even better performances.

What: Oddbird Art and Craft Fair
When: December 5 – 7
Where: 8426 Gateway Boulevard
Admission: $5

Get some holiday shopping done at one of the best local art and craft fairs. There’s something for everyone, from art to clothing to homemade goods. You’re bound to find some gems, for your friends and family or for yourself.

What: A Christmas Past
When: December 14
Where: Rutherford House
Admission: $6 for students

You wouldn’t have to venture far off campus to travel back in time to a holiday from the 1900s. Enjoy the ambience and get a taste of cider and old timey treats. You’ll get a glimpse into what the holiday’s would have looked like for the first premier of Alberta.
