Photostory: Palestine Solidarity Market

The market featured works by artists Farah Ayaad, Isabella MacLean, and Aidan Blockley, among others, to help families in Gaza.

Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), a student club at the University of Alberta, hosted a Palestine Solidarity Market on August 29 in collaboration with Earth’s Refillery Coop and Cafe and Paper Birch Books.

The money collected is going towards Bridge of Solidarity, a mutual aid group based in Gaza.

The market took place at the People’s Piazza and included various vendors selling books, artwork, pins, and more.

SJP told The Gateway that the market is intended to raise political awareness and to “divest from complicit companies in the genocide in Palestine that the university is invested in.”

A total of $1,576.50 was raised.
