SU Elections 2025: General Faculties Council candidates

These are the students running to be representatives on the University of Alberta General Faculties Council for 2025–26.

The General Faculties Council (GFC) is the highest decision-making body at the U of A. This council consists of students, professors, non-academic staff, and university administrators. It is chaired by the U of A president. 

Students will have the chance to vote for their representatives of choice starting March 19 at 9:00 a.m. and ending at March 20 at 6:00 p.m.. 

The following races have no candidates running: Faculté Saint-Jean, pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences, Native studies, and law.

Lily Polenchuk is the 2024-25 Editor-in-Chief of The Gateway. She previously served as the 2023-24 Managing Editor, 2023-24 and 2022-23 News Editor, and 2022-23 Staff Reporter. She is in her third year of a double-major (honours) in English and political science.
