Edmonton’s Dead Vinyl Society is hosting its popular Bring Out Your Dead vinyl sale and swap! This is a great opportunity for vinyl enthusiasts looking to meet other vinyl-heads, get rid of old vinyls, or update their collection!
What: Chasing Ubuntu screening and panel
When: February 24, 3:45 p.m.
Where: Metro Cinema
Admission: $10
Presented by the African Canadian Civic Engagement Council, Chasing Ubuntu is a documentary and call-to-action. It incorporates the African Indigenous philosophy of Ubuntu to address anti-black racism, featuring resilient youth and the decisions they have to make. It emphasizes community, individual renewal, and connecting with others. There will be a panel discussion after the screening.

When: February 20 to March 15, Tuesday to Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Chalef changeant | Wolf Willow is Red River Métis artist Robyn Adam‘s solo exhibition. It features photography, camera-less cyanotype photography, and recently published poetry. Viewers are invited to explore the Métis people and her family’s living history. The exhibit was curated by Tiffany Shaw, a Métis architect, artist, and curator.
What: Nerd Nite: Rocks’ n Roll
When: February 29, 7:30 p.m.
Where: Backstage Theatre at Fringe Theatre Adventures
Admission: $25 per ticket
Are you a nerd for geology? Do you also enjoy live music? This Nerd Nite event features talks from David Martin, Joseph Shea, and Robin Woywitka. Martin is a literary instructor and poet, while Shea is a mountain researcher, musician, and associate professor at the University of Northern British Columbia. Woywitka is an assistant professor at MacEwan University, studying the most recent division of the geological timescale. The kicker? After their talks, all three will play live music for listeners to jam-out to!
What: Salutogenic Design: Bringing the ‘Person’ Into Personalization in Healthcare by Designing for Disabilities of the Hand at FAB Gallery
When: February 20 to March 9, Tuesday to Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Created by Stephanie Rossie, a University of Alberta alumna, this exhibition shows viewers how design, technology, and health connect by looking at salutogenesis. Salutogenesis looks at what supports human health and well-being. The exhibit shows how new solutions can come from recognizing individual needs through displaying designs for hand disabilities.
