What: ‘Built to Last: Architecture, Memory, and the Imaginary Atrium’ at FAB Gallery
When: November 21 to December 16, Tuesday to Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Where: FAB Gallery second floor
Admission: Free admission
This exhibit was created by print-makers Alicja Habisiak-Matczak and Alex R.M. Thompson. Thompson is also an assistant lecturer at the University of Alberta in the faculty of art and design. During May and June 2023, Habisiak-Matczak and Thompson explored each other’s cities: Habisiak-Matczak looked at Edmonton, while Thompson looked at Lodz, Poland. Thompson focused on Lodz’s architecture that housed people during the industrial revolution, with a particular focus on the textile industry. Habisiak-Matczak focused on “the utopic placelessness of Edmonton’s mall atria and the U of A’s extensive campus.”

Edmonton’s biggest Christmas market is back! The market will feature live performances, street car rides, and over 100 local vendors. Vendors change every week, providing the opportunity for multiple unique experiences! This is the perfect opportunity to buy gifts, splurge on yourself, or just enjoy holiday festivities.
What: Harvey
When: December 6 to 16 at 8:00 p.m.
Where: Walterdale Theatre
Admission: $25 per ticket
Walterdale Theatre is presenting Harvey by Mary Chase, a Pulitzer Prize winning comedy. Exploring themes of true friendship and unconditional loyalty, the play follows Elwood P. Dowd and Harvey, a six-foot-tall white rabbit. People question Elwood’s sanity because of his unwavering belief in Harvey’s existence, and hilarious errors follow. Check out Harvey for a night of laughter!
What: Indecent
When: December 1 to 9, evening performances at 7:30 p.m.
Where: Timms Centre for the Arts
Admission: $14 for students
Created by Paula Vogel, Indecent explores The God Of Vengeance by Sholem Asch, a Broadway play performed from 1922-1923. The God of Vengeance was groundbreaking for its upheaval of societal norms. In turn, Indecent intertwines the century-old play with history and “themes of love, tradition, censorship, religious hypocrisy, and the unwavering quest for truth.”
What: Royal Bison Art & Craft Fair
When: December 1-3
Where: Old Strathcona Performing Arts Centre
Admission: $5 entry-fee
Commemorate the Royal Bison Art & Craft Fair’s final event by visiting the fair from December 1 to 3. The fair has taken place for 16 years, always featuring local vendors with unique and weird wares, including ceramics, stationary, apparel, art, and more.
