Looking for some laughs? Check out the Grindstone Comedy Festival! The festival features stand-up, improv, and sketch comedy performances from a variety of Canadian comedians. Whether you’re a die-hard comedy fan or just looking for something funny to watch, the festival offers tons of different opportunities to go and laugh it up with your friends.
What: Edmonton International Street Performers Festival
When: July 3–12
Where: Churchill Square
Admission: Free
Starting July 3, Churchill Square will be bursting at the seams with performances by artists from all around the world. From acrobatics and clowns to bands and biking pianists, this festival has it all. If you want, you can even participate! Learn how to juggle or get your face painted by one of the roving artists. Come take a stroll through the square — you never know who or what you might encounter!
What: RAM Architecture and Design Tour
When: July 5–12
Where: Royal Alberta Museum

Are you architect geek? Are you interested in the history of Alberta? How about both? Head over to the Royal Alberta Museum for a free tour detailing its architecture and design. Learn the significance behind the shapes and lines of an iconic structure, and how its design was influenced by Alberta’s history.
What: Whyte Avenue Art Walk
When: July 10–12
Where: Whyte Avenue
Admission: Free
Talk a walk down Whyte Avenue and see some awesome art! This annual art walk is celebrating its 30th anniversary as one of the largest events of its kind in the province. All visual artists are welcome to participate, and viewers can purchase any available pieces. The walk is a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy a community of creativity!
What: In the Garden at Rutherford House
When: July 11 and 12 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Where: Rutherford House
Admission: $6
Take a visit to the historical Rutherford House, the former home of Alberta’s first premier, and spend the afternoon in the garden. Learn about the historical significance of gardens, enjoy a treat, and make some lemonade! Located right on University of Alberta’s campus, a day in Rutherford’s garden is both convenient and fun.
