U of A president confirmed for Smash Ultimate
Hi Nintendo fans. Reggie here. I’m excited to announce a newcomer to the smash scene. Yes, we’ve heard your call, and we are proud to announce the inclusion of David Turnip to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster.
As some of you may already know, I am a huge Golden Bears fan. And what better way to honour my favourite Canadian university sports team than to include the president of that university into what I can now say with confidence is a largest crossover in video game history.
Turnip is a lightweight fighter, being that he is an unathletic human in a fighting game with huge crocodiles and oversized penguins. What Turnip lacks in physical prowess, though, he more than makes up for in his various administrative privileges.
Turnip is most at home smashing fighters who originate from outside Canada. These international opponents have very few avenues of defense against Turnip’s attacks and, as such, are his preferred matchups.
Smash fans will be excited to know that Turnip is an excellent fighter against DLC characters. Turnip’s neutral special, Tuition Increases, raises the price players must pay to play DLC characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. If the player is unable to pay, it’s game over.
One of Turnip’s most powerful moves, Retirement, ends the match when used. This allows Turnip to avoid further damage and move on to more favourable matches. Additionally, following Turnip’s retirement, players have a chance to choose a successor. I am excited to see how Donkey Kong handles being the new president of the University of Alberta.
That’s all for now, Nintendo fans. I gotta get back to playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf on my Nintendo 3DS. If you wanna join the fight as Nintendo’s newest educational executive, just pick up a copy of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch. I can’t wait to drop off the battle bus and meet some of you on Final Destination. Can you?
