What: Present Tense

Present Tense is a group exhibition displaying the work of senior-level printmaking students from the University of Alberta’s department of art and design. Featuring a list of 12 artists, all with different styles and topics, this isn’t an even to miss!

What: The Power of the Drum

When: April 8 to 17
Where: ATB Financial Arts Barns
Admission: $28.00 per ticket

Produced by the Cuban Movements Dance Company, The Power of the Drum weaves dancing, dance, text, projection, and sound to tell a story that pays homage to the drums while being a celebration of AfroCuban culture.

What: Vivaree

When: April 16 at 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.
Where: Auditorium at Campus Saint-Jean
Admission: $25.00 for adults

This show fuses comedic arts and theatre for a performance perfect for the whole family! As a part of Firefly Theatre, this performance features a contortionist, aerialist, acrobats, and so much more!

What: The Herd

When: April 7 to 24
Where: Citadel Theatre
Admission: $30.00 to $108.00

This theatre performance is produced in association with Tarragon Theatre (Toronto) and the National Arts Centre — Indigenous Theatre. Its plot explores science, culture, and politics when twin white bison are born on a Saskatchewan First Nations ranch.

Jin He

Jin previously served as the 2021-22 Production Editor at The Gateway. She also had a brief stint as 2022-23 Production Editor. She is in her first year studying pharmacy. If not sleeping, she can often be found supporting local artisans, obsessing over e-sports, and sporting some wicked earrings.
