SU Elections 2020: Students’ Council and General Faculties Council Candidates
The same number of vacancies for Students' Council will remain as compared to last year. However, there will be nine less vacancies for undergrad representation on GFC
The first all-candidates’ meeting for the 2020 Students’ Council and General Faculties Council election happened on Monday, March 9 at 6:00 p.m.
The following candidates have been announced, and campaigning will begin on March 10 at 9 a.m. Voting will take place online on March 18 and 19.
Students’ Council exercises oversight over the Students’ Union.
General Faculties Council is the highest academic decision-making body at the university. 159 members make it up, including 40 undergraduate student representatives and two Students’ Union executives.
The number of vacancies for Students’ Council in 2019-20 was seven. This year there will be the same number of vacancies.
For General Faculties Council, there were 23 vacancies in 2019-20. This year there will only be 13 vacancies.

There are no candidates running in this race. In 2019-20, both of the two seats were filled.
Arts
There are six candidates contesting six seats. All six seats were filled in 2019-20. The candidates will win by acclamation unless the ‘none of the above’ option receives more votes.
