What: Strathearn Art Walk and Music Festival
When: September 11–13
Where: Strathearn Park
Admission: Free
Head over to Strathearn for a free art walk and music festival! Enjoy the beer garden, live performances, and hundreds of local, artisan vendors. Take in the beautiful outdoor gallery as you search for the next great art piece to put in your home. And of course, there will be tons of snacks to munch on as you peruse and listen to the performances.
What: Edmonton Filipino Fiesta
When: September 12–13
Where: Louise McKinney Riverfront Park
Admission: Free
Spend your weekend at yet another Edmonton festival with the Edmonton Filipino Fiesta. Hit Louise McKinney Park and take in two days of Filipino entertainment, art, and food. Groove to tons of different bands and dance troupes, then take a break in the shade with some delicious eats from the marketplace. Forget your worries for the day and explore the fiesta!
What: The Mosquers Film Festival
When: September 17–20
Where: Variety of venues
Admission: Prices vary based on event, but most screenings are around $15
The Mosquers Film Festival is an annual event that aims to highlight and celebrate the diversity of Muslim voices through film. Check out one of the theatres and see some brand new movies from Muslim creators. There will also be panels, an awards ceremony, and an after-party over the course of the festival. Go to the movies and check out some cool, new art!
What: iHuman Art Walk
When: September 11 and September 12
Where: iHuman Youth Society Building
Admission: Free
iHuman is non-profit organization that provides arts-based support to youth. Their annual art walk showcases the work created by the young people who access their programs and studios. Come out and enjoy the sun while taking in original works of visual art and music from Edmonton youth.
What: Provincial Archives of Alberta Film Night
When: September 18 at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Metro Cinema
Admission: Free
The Provincial Archives of Alberta is presenting a film night at the Metro Cinema. The evening will feature a series of short documentaries by the Albertan filmmaker Tom Radford, ranging in topics from environmental conservation, Indigenous rights, and immigration. Tom Radford will be in attendance, and a Q&A session will be held after the screening.
