What: Week of Welcome Drag Show
When: September 3 from 7:00 p.m.
Where: Myer Horowitz Theatre

Blow the dust off of those Myer Horowitz seats and get ready for the new semester with a drag show! Experience a night of fierce local queens as they sashay the stage and bring their A-game. Forget about studying for one more night and come party with some queens!
What: Retro Craft Night: 1990s Edition
When: September 3 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Where: Royal Alberta Museum
Admission: Included with admission to the museum ($25)
Head over to the Royal Alberta Museum for a chill night of crafting! Time-travel back to the 90s and embrace your whimsical side with some retro craft activities. Get your hands moving with nostalgic activities like making friendship bracelets and bedazzling jean jackets. Don’t forget your jelly shoes and mom jeans!
What: Golden Bears Football Home Opener
When: September 4 from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Where: Foote Field
Admission: Free for University of Alberta students
Kick off the school year with some green and gold spirit at the Golden Bears first football game of the season! Start your evening off with a tailgate party, featuring food trucks, a DJ, and face-painting. Then, head over to the field to cheer on your Golden Bears as they face the Regina Rams in the first match-up of the year. Go Bears!
What: Let’s Not Turn On Each Other
When: September 5 at 7:00 p.m.
Where: Grindstone Theatre
Admission: $19.46
Let’s Not Turn On Each Other is a new musical comedy by U of A alumni duo Walters and Watt. The show follows Bethandreth and Cownow, two girls who have been stuck in the wilderness for some time. The pair are on a special mission for the cult to which they are devoted members, but panic ensues when they are disrupted. Come out and support some local theatre as Walters and Watt fundraise for their upcoming Fringe run in Vancouver!

Join The Gateway at our first Gateway to Cinema of the year! Every month, we collaborate with Metro Cinema and screen a free movie for students. This month our pick is Project Hail Mary. Come learn more about getting involved with The Gateway, and enjoy a free screening of the sci-fi summer blockbuster!
