What: Freewill Shakespeare Festival
When: June 17–July 12
Where: William Hawrelak Park
Admission: Student tickets are $30 or select performances are pay-what-you-will
Engage in the long-standing tradition of seeing Shakespeare in the park at the Freewill Shakespeare festival. This year, the festival is staging the Elizabethan classic Much Ado About Nothing and the Shakespearean parody musical Something Rotten! After years of the park’s closure, the festival is returning to its home in Hawrelak Park. Come out and enjoy the tales of the bard amidst the sunshine and squirrels!

Celebrate Pride Month by attending Edmonton’s queer film festival! Showing a range of queer movies, from a transgender buddy comedy to Indigenous drag queens to a 30th anniversary screening of The Birdcage, there’s something for everyone. Grab your friends and head to the Metro for a weekend at the gayest film festival in town!
What: Latitude 53 Summer Market
When: June 19–20
Where: Latitude 53 Society of Artists

Back for their second year, the Latitude 53 Summer Market is raring to sell you some art. Featuring local artists and organizations such as Paper Birch Books and Hungry Zine, you’re bound to find some gems as you scan the booths. Get out of the house on a sleepy Saturday and indulge in some local art!
What: Y2GAY: 90s vs. 2000s Dance Party
When: June 20 from 10:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
Where: Grindstone Theatre
Admission: $16.37
Pump up the jams at this nostalgia-filled Pride party! Playing 90s tunes before midnight and 2000s hits after, this dance party is sure to get you in the mood for Pride. Dress in your best Y2K ensemble and sing your heart out to songs that might have come out before you were born. And, get in for free if you show up in full drag!
What: The Works Art & Design Festival
When: June 20–July 1
Where: Churchill Square
Admission: Free
Go check out Churchill Square and take in some art exhibits and workshops! Featuring more than 200 artists, the Works Art & Design Festival is bringing free programming to downtown Edmonton for everyone to come out and enjoy. Admire many mediums of visual art, listen to some musical performances, or learn how to make something of your own at a workshop!
