Photostory: Dreams and Drag — A Fleetwood Mac tribute at Evo
Organized and hosted by Star Struck, the Fleetwood Mac Drag Tribute rocked the stage at Evolution Wonderlounge on Easter Sunday.
Jovi KriegerOn Easter Sunday, Evolution Wonderlounge should have been all pastel eggs and chocolate bunnies. Instead, it became a high-heeled celebration of the legendary rock band Fleetwood Mac. Drag artist Star Struck — the mastermind behind previous drag homage to David Bowie and the irreverent “Cunty Christmas” — hosted and curated this Fleetwood Mac drag tribute as a love letter to Rumours, Stevie Nicks’ mysticism, and the art of a perfectly timed shawl reveal.
From the moment Star Struck took the stage, our beloved Evo stage transformed into a glittering temple of classic rock. The setlist drew from Fleetwood Mac’s greatest hits and Stevie Nicks’ solo catalogue — “The Chain,” “Dreams,” “Landslide,” “Little Lies,” “Edge of Seventeen,” and many more. Some acts leaned into raw, theatrical drama, manifesting the band’s famous interpersonal chaos. Others opted for humour, turning the Buckingham-Nicks tension into camp. A few went ethereal and subliminal, channeling Stevie Nicks’ stage persona at its best. The throughline was pure drag joy. The audience cheered, swayed with phone flashlights, and, by the end, watched the drag parade in bedazzlement by the rhythm of “Tusk.”

As host Star Struck announced each act, the performers who shone in the night were Rebecca Blk, Grand Masala, Sir Papi, Felicia Bonée, Aboyactually, Severina, Dad Bod Rod, Rexy Ressurrection, Celine Deijon, and Tugs, in addition to the last-minute inclusion of Hot Wheelz.
The Easter decorations never came down, but they might as well have been invisible. Across two hours, this fine selection of Edmonton drag artists took the stage to pay a heartfelt tribute to the music and mystique of Fleetwood Mac. Together, they turned an Easter Sunday at Evo into a memorable drag queen 70’s rock ritual.
