What: Country Christmas Marketplace
When: November 7 – 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m..
Where: Edmonton EXPO Centre
Admission: Free
Shop up for the holiday season at the Country Christmas Marketplace. This market is hosting a variety of local vendors all in one place for your shopping needs. With everything from liqueurs from Black Diamond Distillery, to creative cutting boards from Woodnt It Be Nice If, there is something for everyone. The event is hosted by Farmfair International, which is one of Alberta’s top agriculture and livestock shows.
What: Métis Week
When: November 10 – 16
Where: Various locations
Admission: Free
Métis Week is an annual event put on by the Métis Nation of Alberta that hosts a number of events that aim to celebrate the heritage of Métis people. Some of the events include a Louis Riel commemorative walk, chili and bannock at Métis Urban and Capital Housing, and an open house at the Métis Youth Centre.
What: Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival
When: November 8 – 9
Where: Edmonton Convention Centre
Admission: $25 – $36 for general admission
Looking for a tasty way to spend your weekend? The Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival provides an expansive array of flavours to explore. With numerous wine, beer, and food options from all around the world, this festival is sure to fill you up. There are also workshops to attend, such as the wine workshop, where you can learn more about the intricacies of the drinks.
What: The Ballad of Johnny and June
When: November 9 – December 8
Where: Citadel Theatre
Admission: $40 – $140
The Ballad of Johnny and June is the Citadel Theatre’s newest production. It’s a musical that explores the life and musical career of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash — told from the point of view of their son John Carter Cash. With iconic performances from Christopher Ryan Grant and Patti Murin, and classic songs like “Ring of Fire,” this performance is an enchanting glimpse back in time.
What: trail of light concert
When: November 10 at 7:30 p.m..
Where: All Saints’ Anglican Cathedral
Admission: $15 for students with valid I.D.
Trail of light is the first of three concerts of the newest season of Edmonton’s Chronos Vocal Ensemble. The season explores the past, future, and present in vocal music from six centuries of human experience. Trail of light will feature premiers of “I Am Not Yours” by Gerda Blok-Wilson and “The Poplar and the Moon” by Jeff Enns.
