Catch the holiday classic, Miracle on 34th Street from 1994, at the downtown library. Hosted by the Edmonton Public Library, the event is free to attend.
What: Candy Cane Lane

Make some hot chocolate and bundle up in your warmest winter clothes to enjoy Candy Cane Lane. For five decades, this neighbourhood has been decorating for the holidays for other’s enjoyment. If you go on December 23, you can sled or ski down the street. While the event is free, a donation to the food bank is encouraged.
What: Mrs. Claus Holiday Spectacular
When: December 19 – 20
Where: Varscona Theatre

Santa Claus tends to get all of the attention, but Mrs. Claus just might be a lot more than his wife. Go find out for yourself at the Mrs. Claus Holiday Spectacular drag and burlesque show. You’ll get to see some local performers with a festive twist, including Claudia Hartout, Audra Dacity, and Honey Dijon.
What: Alt After Dark Night Market

Go treat yourself to some local, handcrafted goods for surviving the fall semester and final exams at the Alt After Dark Night Market. There will be local breweries, artists, and more than 35 vendors. You may also find some flash tattoos at the market.
What: Winter Wonderland
When: November 22 – January 4
Where: Muttart Conservatory
Admission: $14.95
Winter doesn’t have to be dark, cold, and dreadful. It can also be full of plants, warm, and festive. The usual pyramids will be open to guests, but you can also view the silver and blue holiday themed feature pyramid. Grad a coffee at the Cafe Bloom Restaurant on your way out to keep extra warm.
