What: Carrie: The Musical
When: November 26 – 30
Where: Triffo Theatre
Admission: $13
Check out a musical performance of Steven King’s Carrie at Macewan’s Triffo Theatre. Carrie is the story of a bullied teenage outcast who finds out she has telekinetic powers and horrifically uses them for revenge. And with the original being a real horror show, a musical performance is definitely going to be interesting.
What: Alberta Number One
When: November 29
Where: Metro Cinema
Admission: $11 for students
Alberta Number One is a film that follows a crew of documentarians through Alberta, checking out all kinds of roadside attractions and museums. The screening is set to have a post-showing question-and-answer with filmmaker, Alexander Carson. Check out some locally filmed work and support the Alberta film scene.
What: Georgia Harmer with Sam Lynch
When: November 26
Where: The Aviary
Admission: $25
Georgia Harmer is out west from Toronto with Sam Lynch. Harmer’s soft vocals and feel are a sure fit for the changing weather and feel of The Aviary. And Lynch has a similarly cozy vibe. Both artists aren’t to be missed while they’re in the city. Support some prime Canadian acts and check them out on November 26.
What: ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas
When: November 20 – 22
Where: The Orange Hub Theatre
Admission: $34.92
Dancers from the Edmonton Festival Ballet and Edmonton Contemporary Dancers are putting on a ballet performance based on Clement Clark Moore’s poem, ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas. And with Halloween just passing by and Christmas coming up, this performance is a great way to get into the Christmas spirit.
What: Canadian Tire Magic of Lights
When: November 20 – January 3
Where: RAD Torque Raceway
Admission: $35
Featuring two million lights, the Canadian Tire Magic of Lights has you driving through a tunnel two kilometer tunnel of lights. Tickets are per car, which, depending on what your driving, can easily drop to around $5 per person. And, a portion of proceeds from the event go to 880 Ched’s Santas Anonymous and Canadian Tire Jumpstart.
