Photostory: Pandas volleyball battles against the UFV Cascades for a five-set victory

The Pandas earned a hard-fought 3-2 win on Saturday at the Saville Community Sports Centre, sitting at second place in Canada West.

The Pandas came out strong against the University of the Fraser Vally (UFV) Cascades in the opening set, controlling the pace early and finishing it 25-15. 

UFV Cascades responded with intensity, claiming the next two sets 25-23 and 25-22 to swing the pressure back to the Pandas. With UFV holding momentum, the fourth set became a turning point the Pandas could not afford to lose. Feeding off the crowd, the Pandas answered in the fourth and claimed the set 25-21. With everything on the line in the fifth set, both sides fought in a tight battle while trading points and momentum. Key blocks from Allie Moore and a kill from Mackenzie Pool sealed the match 15-12. Overcoming an early deficit and facing pressure, the Pandas battled with determination and composure to secure a thrilling victory.

The win over the UFV Cascades brings the Pandas to 5-1 in the season as they head into their bye week.
