What: Backyard BBQ and Clothing Sale

Where: 10114 86 Ave (in the backyard)
Admission: Free
Pop-up clothing sale in a backyard with a free hotdog and beer with every $10 purchase. With all items being $10 and a raffle for Carhartt Detroit, you sure want to this check out.
What: DOOM GONG and World News @ The Aviary
When: June 18
Where: The Aviary
Admission: $15 advance or $20 at the doors
American denim psych band, DOOM GONG, is headlining The Aviary. They sound like 2010s King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, mixed with a bit of folk. Their opener, World News, is a Toronto experimental hardware group. This genre mixed bill is something to check out.
What: Pride Block Party
When: June 7
Where: 81 Avenue, in front of Grindstone Theatre
Admission: Free
The Pride Block Party is a 2SLGBTQIA+ community celebration for Pride Month! There’ll be drag brunch and storytime, as well as live music and DJ sets. The event is free and open to everyone of all ages, dogs are welcome too.
What: Midwest Emo Bands as Bands
When: June 13
Where: The Aviary
Admission: $20
Six bands are covering songs from well known emo/midwest bands on June 13. Some of the bands being covered are Joyce Manor, Modern Baseball, and Mom Jeans. The bands covering them are Misfortune Tellers, Homefield Advantage, and Stadium Eleven, respectively.
What: Where Dark Things Dwell
When: June 6 – September 14
Where: Fort Edmonton Park
Admission: $35 for individual tickets
Where Dark Things Dwell is an escape room, but instead of a room, it’s Fort Edmonton Park. The story is that you’re a group of travellers who end up in the village of Edmonton at night, and have to deal with an ancient curse. Guided by only a lantern, you and your group will move through the town’s historic buildings solving puzzles to escape.
