Pot Thots: Haven St. and Everie cannabis-infused teas

Where pot thots and tea lovers collide, unless you like David's Tea...

I may be a self-proclaimed pothead, but I absolutely cannot stand joints.

I always thought joints would be relaxing like a nice cup of hot tea, but honestly, they burn my throat, taste terrible, and take too long for me to feel anything.

If you’re like me and love the high but hate the joint, or if you’re a fellow tea-lover looking for new avenues of enjoyment, I recommend trying the cannabis-infused teas from Haven St. Premium Cannabis and Everie.

The taste of cannabis isn’t too strong with any of these brands, so that shouldn’t be a concern if you’re not the biggest fan of tea. It’s mostly just a slight cannabis aftertaste that’s left behind. The cannabis taste is even less prominent with the sweeter teas, but it’s definitely still there. As a fun bonus, all of the tea bags are also biodegradable!

Although caffeinated tea infused with cannabis does not exist to my knowledge, the best option for tea drinkers who dislike fruity sweet teas would definitely be Peace No. 150 green tea by Haven St. This has the most CBD of their teas at 20 mg, with less than one mg of THC

If you enjoy London Fogs, I highly recommend Focus No. 350 by Haven St. This tea is a vanilla Earl Grey and has a 1:2 ratio of THC:CBD, with five mg of THC and 10 mg of CBD.

I’m personally not the biggest fan of David’s Tea. I find that their teas taste fake and artificial, which in turn makes them way too sweet. If you share my dislike of David’s Tea, you would probably prefer Haven St. over Everie tea.

Although Everie isn’t quite as sweet as David’s Tea and has more of a natural tea flavour, it is definitely the more similar option between the two. Everie’s teas also only have CBD, with just tiny amounts of THC (as in less than one mg).

Everie’s frutiest, sweetest tea is definitely its Peach Ginger Green CBD Tea. This tea also pairs well with some honey if you want to add even more sweetness to it.

Another sweet tea that I like from Everie is its Vanilla Rooibos. If you like Chai and are looking for a tea infused with CBD, I would definitely go for this one. Note though that this tea does not taste fruity at all, so I would not recommend it if that’s what you generally prefer.

My all-time favourite cannabis-infused tea is definitely Everie’s Mint Tea. It is not overly sweet, which I love, plus peppermint tea has always been my comfort tea! I also like Everie’s Mint Tea because peppermint tea is usually herbal, meaning that it doesn’t taste too different in cannabis beverages.

Overall, Haven St. has solid flavours and good variations of THC and CBD. The one downside is that their teas are sold individually, whereas all of Everie’s teas generally come in packs of three bags.

On the flip side, Everie only sells CBD beverages, whereas Haven St. has different ratios of THC to CBD. If you decide to try either, please remember that you don’t feel the cannabis as fast as when you vape or smoke —  it can take up to four hours to feel the full effects!
