Gateway: Describe your outfit
Karbonik: It’s kind of my rainy day outfit. I always wear this jacket when it’s raining and I thought that [the scarf] matched, so I wore that, and then I did the lipstick because it also matched the head scarf. My backpack is from Roots; I love Roots! This jacket is Roots. I have this outfit that is 90% Roots and it’s one of my favourites.

Gateway: How about your socks?
Karbonik: Well, for my whole life, I’ve never really matched my socks. It used to be this big fight thing between me and my dad. There was a lot of conflict around that. He’d be like, ‘Katelin, go change your socks!’ and I’d be like, ‘Nooo!’ Eventually he just gave up and now, the reason that I still do it is because he was so against it.

Gateway: What are you most excited to wear in the fall and winter?
Karbonik: Sweaters! Sweaters. I’m a textile student and I’m a knitter, so I knit things. I have one more sleeve to go on this sweater that I’m really excited to wear.
