The annual art walk in Old Strathcona is back this year! The art walk is an annual festival where over 400 artists put on displays along Whyte Avenue. Check it out and support local art!

What: Cruel Summer: Taylor Swift Dance Party
When: July 4
Where: The Starlite Room
Admission: $17.21

Hit up The Starlite Room on July 4 to dance to some Taylor Swift. Dance parties at The Starlite Room have a DJ playing on themed tunes for people to dance to. At this one, they’re playing hits, deep cuts and all.

What: Shotgun Jimmie with The Burning Hell and DoT @ The Aviary

Brandon, Manitoba’s Shotgun Jimmie is headlining The Aviary on July 17. He makes thoughtful, emotional music. Perfect to sway to under the skylights at The Aviary. The Burning Hell is genre-bending, moving, and ironic. A perfect fit to switch up the bill.

When: July 13
Where: Foote Field
Admission: $25

Check out “Canada’s #1 track and field competition” at Foote Field on July 13. The events include 100 metre sprint, hurdles, long jump, hammer throw, and shotput!

What: Grindstone Comedy Festival When: July 2 – 6
Where: Grindstone Comedy Theatre
Admission: $20 – $48 for individual shows, $155 for festival pass

The sixth annual Grindstone Comedy Festival is back with performances from Kenny Vs. Spenny, Robby Hoffman, and Jon Dore. The festival also has an improv competition, a stand-up competition, and an alumni showcase.
