What: Hi-Light Festival 2026
When: April 8 – 12

Admission: $19.61 per show or $55 for all shows

The Hi-Light festival is back this year. With 31 bands playing in four different venues over five days, there’s a ton of great sets to see. On each bill is a lot of local acts like Pails/Buckets or Vanity Hour alongside some out-of-towners like Greenwing.

Admission: Free

The University of Alberta’s thirdyear Bachelor’s of Fine Arts acting class is putting on a production of William Shakespeare’s Richard III. The play follows the short and tragic reign of King Richard III.

What: Pink Show Pony Club
When: April 12
Where: Dolly’s Cocktails
Admission: $21.99

Dolly’s Cocktails is set to be hosting three local performers for a night of burlesque. The event is featuring performer, emcee, and producer, LeTabby Lexington, performance artist Charlee Queen, and drag king Stretcher Hartout. And considering Dolly’s unique pink aesthetic and cocktails, there’s not a better spot for this event.

Where: The Citadel Theatre
Admission: Free

On April 14, the Citadel Theatre is screening a new documentary about the creation of the Northern Super League (NSL), Canada’s first professional women’s soccer league. The film follows former Canadian national soccer team player and Olympian, Diana Matheson, as she sets out to create the league.

What: Chelsey Grewar: The Wannabe Cowgirl Tour
When: April 18
Where: Grindstone Theatre
Admission: $24.61 advance, $29.77 at doors

Upcoming Toronto-based but Winnipeg-raised comedian, Chelsey Grewar, is bringing her comedy to Edmonton. She’s known for her observational comedy and storytelling, alongside being the host and producer of the monthly Yee-Ha Comedy stand-up show in Toronto.
