Where: Rapid Fire Theatre
Admission: Pay what you will

Catch this show featuring a new troupe of improv actors a part of the Rapid Fire Theatre improv ensemble. The Rookie Show is set to have the 2024–25 rookies performing an unpredictable comedy show.

What: The Aviary 10 year Anniversary Shows
When: April 2 – 4
Where: The Aviary
Admission: $20 in advance, $25 at the doors

Celebrating their 10 year anniversary, The Aviary is having three shows over three days with a range of wildly good local talent. Whether you want to see Edmonton’s own Scenic Route to Alaska play with their collaborative group, Major Love on April 2, or Edmonton rapper Arlo Maverick on April 3, there’s a lot of local talent present. Support your local music scene.

What: Oopik Owl Workshop
When: April 4
Where: Fort Edmonton Park
Admission: Free

Swing by Fort Edmonton park on April 4 to make an Ookpik as part of Fort Edmonton’s workshop series for Inuit art and culture. Honouring the snowy owl, you can make an Ookpik using a glover needle, thimble, sinew, and seal hide.

What: Rat Academy
When: April 9 – April 11
Where: The Roxy Theatre
Admission: $25

Running from April 9 to April 11 at the Nancy Power Theatre is Rat Academy. Inspired by 1950s Alberta anti-rat propaganda, this show is set to have the two last rats in Alberta learn how to live in a province getting rid of them.

What: Northwest Film Festival
When: April 8 – 12
Where: Metro Cinema
Admission: $10 – $20

From April 8 to April 12, the Metro Cinema will be screening a range of local and international indie films. Catch films like Mr. Goalie, which is about the recently passed hall of fame goaltender from the prairies, Glenn Hall, or Silver Screamers, which follows senior citizens who make a horror film.
