From the first Arts District Day to St. Patrick's day celebrations, the first half of March is geared up to have a lot to do and see.

What: Midwest Emo Bands As Bands
When: March 19
Where: The Aviary
Admission: $15 in advance, $20 at the doors

Midwest Emo Bands As Bands has local talent doing covers of well known midwest emo bands. Catch Sumptorium cover Title Fight, Privy Vault & Co cover Free Throw and a couple others at The Aviary on March 19. Support your local music scene.

What: Arts District Day

Where: 10240 99 St NW
Admission: Free

For Edmonton’s first ever Arts District Day, the Art Gallery of Alberta, Citadel Theatre, and Winspear Centre are hosting a range of activities. From art making and creative workshops to live music, there’s going to be tons to do, see, and hear in the area.

What: St. Patrick’s Day Party
When: March 17
Where: The Sherlock Holmes Pub (Campus)
Admission: Free

Opening their doors at 10:00 a.m., The Sherlock Holmes Pub is set to have Irish dancers, live music, and a pipe band. Along with it, the beer is going to be green. Head over on March 17 to celebrate St. Patrick’s day close to campus.

What: Sewâtsiwin: They Are Sacred
When: March 17
Where: Room 2-39, Corbett Hall, North Campus or L1-141, Augustana
Admission: Free

The North Campus and Augustana are both presenting a special screening of Sewâtsiwin: They Are Sacred. The documentary “offers an intimate and timely exploration of Indigenous knowledge, autism, and community.” Grant Bruno, a University of Alberta professor who appears in the film, will be present to chat after the film.

What: Downtown Edmonton Dining Week
When: March 11 – 22
Where: Multi-venue
Admission: $15 to $65

Downtown Edmonton Dining Week has participating local restaurants having fixed prices and fixed menus so you can try a range. From $15 lunches at spots like Caffè Sole and 7-Kitchens to $35 dinners at Campio Brewing Co. and Cask & Barrel, there’s tons to try.
