Photostory: Matches made in the KHRA: NSA hosts hit matchmaking event
The event was a hit among attendees, hopefully fostering some long-lasting connections.
Jonathan BajomoOn February 6, the University of Alberta Nigerian Students Association held its annual Valentine’s event, “Valentine’s Wahala Pt. 2,” in the Dianne and Irving Kipnes Health Research Academy (KHRA) building (formerly the Edmonton Clinic Health Academy [ECHA]). The classroom was packed to capacity with over 100 attendees. The evening kicked off with a game of “Love Bingo,” allowing guests to get to know one another. This was followed by a segment featuring anonymous confessions and submissions sent in before the event, where the audience offered advice on some of the wildest stories from people’s love lives.
The highlight of the night was the “Valentine’s Hotseat,” where participants were interviewed by the host before being courted by members of the crowd. This led to multiple matches and, hopefully, a few long-lasting connections. Following the event, attendees shared that they were thoroughly entertained and look forward to returning next year.
