What: Bleeding Heart Film & Art Night
When: December 7 at 6:00 p.m..
Where: Bleeding Heart Art Space
Admission: Pay-what-you-can

Bleeding Heart Art Space is putting on a film and art night that will feature short animations, poetry, live-action film, and more. There will be dozens of artists in attendance, along with the chance to purchase food from Lodgepole Bakery. Get out and enjoy some local art and talent with the Bleeding Heart Film & Art Night!

What: Butterdome Craft Sale
When: December 5 – 8
Where: Universiade Pavilion (Butterdome)
Admission: $5 for U of A students with valid I.D.

The Butterdome Craft Sale is an iconic Christmas market that features hundreds of artisan vendors. There is everything from clothing to gardening supplies to kids’ toys. While the size of the market may be daunting, there is a map so you can plan your visit before you go. Check out the many vendors, and get some holiday shopping done this weekend!

What: On Becoming
When: October 26 – January 25
Where: University of Alberta Museums Gallery A
Admission: Free

On Becoming is the latest art exhibit from the University of Alberta Museums Art Collection, which collects works of art for exhibition, teaching, and research purposes. On Becoming focuses on Indigenous voices which “recognizes the changing nature of collecting art through time.” There are also a number of events happening until the last day of the exhibit, such as tours of the gallery.

What: States of Soul: A Story of Musical Expression
When: December 7 at 7:30 p.m..
Where: Convocation Hall
Admission: $10 for students

The University of Alberta Symphony Orchestra (USO) is one of the department of music‘s many ensembles. The Symphony Orchestra is putting on its main stage concert, States of Soul: A Story of Musical Expression which will feature “dramatic and movie music-like masterpieces.” Wind down from the last week of classes with this captivating concert from USO.

What: Wildfire
When: December 6 – 14
Where: Timms Centre for the Arts
Admission: $14 for students

Every year the Studio Theatre puts on a number of performances featuring students from the U of A. Studio Theatre’s second performance of their 75th season, Wildfire, follows three generations of people. In this play, the characters “grapple with loneliness, unresolved trauma, and fate.” U of A students are able to attend the performance for $14, or for $7 for a half-price preview on Thursday and Saturday matinees.
