Spill the Tea: Assam Bukhial Estate P.F.

Assam Bukhial Estate P.F. is a must-have for your pantry!

Spill the Tea is a series where our writers review various tea brands and tea types.

Black teas are my favourite — they’re caffeinated and strong like coffee, but they don’t hurt your stomach. Assam teas are a great way to limit your coffee intake, but still, receive the caffeine you require.

Assam tea originates from Assam, India, and are best known for their maltiness and strength. The type and brand of the tea matters because certain brands can make their Assams too malty or not malty enough; also, Assam teas are exported all around the world and are highly common in supermarkets, which means that certain brands might not include the best ingredients.

Assam Bukhial Estate P.F. from Acquired Taste Tea Company is a great staple for your pantry. The tea doesn’t have a strong aroma, but the taste is powerful. It can be too bitter for certain people, but I personally like bitter drinks.

My mom used to drink many different types of Assam teas when she was younger and lived in Fiji; she didn’t know for the longest time that you can buy loose leaf tea in Canada, so she stopped drinking them. Long story short, my mom approves of this tea.

Even though I absolutely hate having milk in my tea, the Assam Bukhial Estate P.F. tastes pretty good with milk, especially if you want to tone down the taste a little.

Assam Bukhial Estate P.F. is a must-have for tea-lovers. Cut out the coffee for one day, and switch to Assam! You won’t regret it!
