It seems like everything at this time of year is pumpkin spiced.
From coffees and lattes, to the more unorthodox Spam Pumpkin Spice version, the craze for all things pumpkin-like during October is wild. The last thing you probably want to read about is another pumpkin spice-laden drink. However, Alley Kat’s Pumpkin Pie beer is worthwhile.
As soon as you open it you’ll smell the sweet aroma of a fresh pumpkin pie, just like the one your grandma used to make.
The beer is light and easy to drink. It’s sweet and has a slight spicy edge with hints of nutmeg nuttiness, cinnamon, cloves, and pumpkin. The pumpkin taste is mild and does not overpower the entire drink.
Alley Kat’s Pumpkin Pie beer is a seasonal brew, so it’s only sold while supplies last. They actually use pumpkin puree while brewing the beer to give it an authentic flavour.
I know that when the pumpkin pie runs out this year after Thanksgiving, I’ll happily drink Alley Kat’s Pumpkin Pie beer.
