One of my favourite things in the entire world is eating breakfast for dinner. As a full-blown adult, it feels like a gesture of rebellion. I can eat whatever I want, whenever I want. No longer will I allow myself to be restricted by the cruel rules of a society that tells us pancakes are only acceptable before 12 p.m.
I was delighted, therefore, to find out that Dewey’s serves breakfast all day long. My heart lit up with the thought of waffles at any time, unrestricted access to scrambled eggs, and absolutely no time limit on my hash brown intake.
But alas, Dewey’s let me down.
“All Day Breakfast” should be relabelled as “Breakfast Before 5pm,” because it’s not available any later than that. Looks like, at least at Dewey’s, my hash brown intake does have a time limit after all. And that makes me sad.
