The process by which the Pandas field hockey team was recently “cut-out” of the University Athletics Department ought to be offensive to all student-athletes. The process lacked transparency, was highly discretionary and, quite simply, distasteful.

I read with interest Justin Bell’s column on the Sept. 1 edition of The Gateway. As a long-term resident of Windsor Park, I have witnessed the influx of students into rental houses.
Life is hard. There’s no secret or manual — we’re all just sort of playing it by ear. There’s no right or wrong way to go through life, just an easy way and a hard way. The hard way involves work, dedication, motivation, aggravation, archaeological excavation, rhyming skills, etc. So we can all agree the hard way is way too hard. It’s clear you need to take the easy way out. After all, with great effort comes great responsibility.
