A University of Alberta student who stole almost $28,000 from the Business Students’ Association (BSA) is being charged with theft by the Edmonton Police Service.
The student, who is also being charged under the university’s Code of Student Behaviour, is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 29. EPS spokesman Chad Orydzuk confirmed that police laid charges yesterday of theft over $5,000 against the 21-year-old male.
The BSA revealed last week that $27,745 had been stolen over the course of the summer from a BSA bank account and that the student responsible was under investigation. The BSA discovered the missing money in August 2011.
The identity of the student in question is being kept confidential until his court hearing.
Life is hard. There’s no secret or manual — we’re all just sort of playing it by ear. There’s no right or wrong way to go through life, just an easy way and a hard way. The hard way involves work, dedication, motivation, aggravation, archaeological excavation, rhyming skills, etc. So we can all agree the hard way is way too hard. It’s clear you need to take the easy way out. After all, with great effort comes great responsibility.
For the final show of the year, Ryan, Darcy and Adrian sit down for an hour and talk about stuff they like.
